The Sunshine Centre Association was established in 1976 by a group of
concerned mothers of young children with disabilities. The Sunshine Centre
Association is committed to the development, training and guidance of parents
of children with intellectual, developmental delays and physical disabilities.
The Sunshine Centre operate:
- A Training Division that provides a training programme called START
(Strive Towards Achieving Results Together) and the Early Childhood
Development Inclusion Model.
- A Social Work Division
The Sunshine Centre offers a holistic developmental approach culminating in the
following programmes; Early Intervention day- care, Non-Centre Based
Programme, Toy Library, Therapeutic Social Work intervention to families,
Volunteer Management, Awareness Raising, Youth and Sibling support and
